멕시코 음식의 주요 품목은 `또르띠야(Tortilla)'라고 불리는 것으로
물에 불린 옥수수를 으깨 얇게 원형으로 구워서 만든다. 또르띠야는
독자적으로 주요 메뉴가 되지는 못하고 같이 먹을 수 있는 소스나
우리의 만두처럼 안을 채울 수 있는 다른 음식재료와 함께 등장한다.
또르띠야는 많은 음식에 들어가는 재료이다 보니 이를 이용한 요리는
아주 다양하다. 우리나라에서 맛볼 수 있는 대표적인 것은 타코,
엔칠라다, 부리토, 쿼사디야, 치미창가, 타코샐러드, 화이타 등으로
멕시코 정통이라기보다는 약간씩 미국식으로 변형된 것들이다.

타코(Taco)는 멕시코의 대표적인 음식으로 또르띠야를 U자형으로
만들어 튀긴 후 또띠야 속에다 고기나 콩, 양상추, 치즈 등 좋아하는
재료를 넣어 먹는 음식이다.

부리토(Burrito)라는 음식은 콩과 고기를 잘 버무려 커다란 또르띠야에
네모지게 싸서 먹는 것이고 엔칠라다(Enchilada)는 옥수수 또르띠야에
소고기를 넣고 둥글게 말아서 소스를 발라 구워 먹는 음식이다.

치미창가(Chimichangos) 역시 또르띠야를 이용한 것으로 밀가루
또르띠야에 소를 넣고 접거나 돌돌 말아 바삭하게 튀긴 것이다.

께사디야(Quesadillas)는 넓은 밀가루 또띠야를 반으로 접어 치즈를
비롯한 내용물을 넣고 구워낸 후 부채꼴 모양으로 3~4등분해 먹는
요리다.

이 외에도 조개모양의 또띠야 볼 안에 야채를 얹어 먹는 타코샐러드
(Taco Salad)와 구운 쇠고기나 치킨을 샐러드와 함께 싸서 먹는
화이타(Fajita) 등이 있다.

환자가 유도하고 유지되는 고의성 체중감소가 특징적인 장애이다. 이것은 주로 청년기의 소녀나
젊은 여자에서 발생하지만 청년기의 소년, 젊은 남자 또는 사춘기 소년 부터 폐경기의 여자에게까지
생길 수 있다. 이 장애는 특수한 정신병리학적인 면과 연관되어 지방분에 대한 걱정과 축 늘어진
체형에 대한 근심에 너무 압도되어 자신에 대한 몸무게의 역치를 너무 낮게 잡는데 있다. 다양한
정도의 영양부족에 의한 내분비, 대사 변화가 몸의 기능 수행에 지장을 가져온다. 증상은 제한된
메뉴의 선택, 과도한 운동, 구토와 변통의 유도, 식욕억제제와 이뇨제의 사용 등으로 나타난다.

F50.1 비정형성 신경성 식욕부진(Atypical anorexia nervosa)
임상양상 진단이 명확하지 않고 신경성 식욕부진의 몇몇 특징을 충족 시키는 장애. 예를 들면, 비만에
대한 현저한 근심 혹은 무월경과 같은 주요 증상중의 하나는 뚜렷한 체중의 상실 및 감소시키는
행동의 근거가 되지는 않는다. 이러한 진단은 체중상실과 관련된 잘 알려진 신체적 장애의 근거가
되지는 않는다.
F50.2 신경성 대식증(Bulimia nervosa)
몸무게 조절에 대한 과도한 선입견과 반복적 과식발작이 특징인 일련의 증후군이며 과식과 구토의
양상을 보인다. 이 장애는 신체형태 및 체중을 포함해서 신경성 식욕부진 관련 생리적 특징을 공유한
다. 반복된 구토는 몸의 전해질 부족과 신체적 이상을 초래 한다. 수개월에서 수년에 이르는 발병전
신경성 대식증의 에피소드가 항상 있을 수는 없지만 주로 존재한다.

임상양상의 진단이 명확하지 않고 신경성 대식증의 몇몇 특징을 충족시키는 장애. 예를 들면, 현저한
체중의 변화 없이 하제의 과용 및 과식의 재발성 발작이 있고 또는 신체의 형태 및 체중과의 전형적인
지나친 관련성이 결여 되어 있다.
F50.4 기타 심리학적 장애와 연관된 과식(Overeating associated with other psychological disturbances)
사별, 사고, 출산 등과 같은 근심거리에 의한 과식(Overeating due to stressful events, such as
bereavement, accident, childbirth, etc.)

F50.5 기타 심리학적 장애와 연관된 구토증(Vomiting associated with other psychological disturbances)
해리장애(F44.-)와 심기증성 장애(F45.2)에서의 재발성 구토이며 이장 이외에서 분류된 조건에 의한
것도 포함된다. 임신중의 재발성 오심, 구토에서 정서적 요인이 우세할 때 O21.-(임신중 과구토)에
추가적으로 사용될 수 있다.

정확한 어원은 알 수 없지만 영어에서는 18세기 후반에 널리 쓰인 표현으로 영어로 건너오기 전에 라틴어나 독일어에도 이미 오래전(1630년) 로마를 흐르는 Tiber(티베르강)이나 독일의 Rhine(라인강)에 불을 지른다는 표현이 있었다고 함.
