The World Nurses Conference is a meeting that representatives in the nursing community and nurses from 135 countries gather and discuss international health care issues under the theme of Global Citizen, Global Nursing and Secretary General Margaret Chan attended the opening ceremony on the 19th and going to give a keynote speech on 20th on the nursing seminar.
Bill Gates, the software juggernaut's chairman and chief executive, is
giving the kickoff keynote address on Sunday night. Analysts expect
Gates to talk about Microsoft's much-anticipated Windows 2000 operating
system -- due next February -- his vision of the industry, and perhaps
some references to the recent ruling.

나선다. 게이츠 회장은 연설에서 내년 2월 선보이는 MS 윈도 2000 운영체제와

Sun Chairman and Chief Executive Scott McNealy will give a keynote
address on Wednesday, and Sun will give away copies of Star Office at
the show. Sun, which doesn't typically exhibit at Comdex, will demo its
new Sun Ray, a book-sized appliance for accessing the Internet and
corporate networks.

It was hardly a new theme. Gates, who traditionally gives the trade
show's keynote address, has long promoted the idea that ever-smaller,
more convenient devices will help consumers take advantage of an
increasingly connected world, with Microsoft providing much of
the technology behind it all.
그러나 그의 이 날 발언은 새로운 것은 아니다. 관례적으로 컴덱스의 기조

But this year's speech was notable for what Gates did not discuss: U.S.
District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson's Nov. 5 finding that Microsoft
is a monopoly that has hurt consumers and stifled competition.
That finding, issued in the federal government's long-running
antitrust case against Microsoft, could make it harder for Microsoft
to provide the technology for the next wave of Internet devices,
which will be much leaner and lighter than personal computers.
그러나 올해 기조연설은 게이츠는 언급하지 않았지만 법원의 마이크로소
프트에 대한 독점판결이라는 대사건으로 인해 특별히 주목을 끌었다.
