식약처는 "퍼프린젠스로 인한 식중독은 음식 조리·보관시 주의하면 충분히 예방할 수 있기 때문에 급식소나 대형 음식점 등에서는 조리식품 보관방법과 보관온도를 반드시 지켜야 한다"고 밝혔다.

아울러 결식 우려가 있는 노인의 자택으로 점심 도시락을 배달하거나, 급식소에서 간편식을 배부해 노인들이 자택에서 각자 조리해 섭취할 수 있도록 하는 등 노인무료급식의 대안도 도입됐다.
