'Real-Name Financial System' was an issue of contention during
an interpellation session on the economy Tuesday and yesterday.
29일과 30일에 걸친 국회 경제분야 대정부질문에서 금융실명제를 놓
고 여야간에 논란이 벌어졌다.
Rep. Lee Won-beom of the party said the real-name system, which
was introduced in a blitzkrieg manner, has had a negative
influence on the economy. ``Even those who had accumulated
wealth through legal methods are treated like criminals. Spending
sprees and indiscreet overseas trips have replaced diligence and
savings. Small companies, which had relied on private loans,
suffered from the financial squeeze,'' Rep. Lee claimed.
자민련 이원범의원은 "불시에 실시한 금융실명제가 경제에 부정적인
영향을 끼쳤으며, 합법적으로 부를 축적한 사람들도 죄인 취급을 받고
있다"면서 "근면과 저축 대신 과소비와 해외여행이 조장되었으며, 사
채에 의존해온 중소기업들이 자금 압박을 받게 되었다"고 주장했다.
Already many have linked the first revision of the inheritance tax law
in 46 years to the presidential election next year. Some speculate that
it is a gift to the rich in return for the loss they suffered from the
real-name financial transaction system implemented by the Kim
Young-sam administration.
46년만에 처음으로 개정되는 상속세 개정에는 내년도 대통령 선거를 앞두
고 이미 많은 요소가 얽혀 있다. 혹자는 이번의 개정이 김영삼정부가 시행
한 금융실명 거래 제도로 인해 손해를 본 부유층들에게 주는 선물이라는 의
혹을 제기하기도 한다.
