BLACK JOURNALISM
- 언론이 어떤 개인이나 단체의 약점을 알아내고서, 이것을
세상에 공개하겠다 라고 하는 위협을 하는것 혹은 다른 이익을
노리고 이러한 약점을 보도하는 언론의 부정적인 활동을 의미
한다. 이와 비슷한 것으로
BLACKMAIL이란게 있는데 악랄한 세금이란 뜻이다.
여기서 black은 악의에 찬, 악랄한이란 뜻이고, mail은 우편물
이란 뜻도 있지만 지불, 세금(= tax, payment)란 뜻도 있다.
이말은 England와 Scotland의 경계에 사는 소농민들에게
신변보호를 구실로 삼아서 도둑떼들이 강제로 곡식과 재산을
포탈해가던 악습에서 비롯된 말이다.
그후 이말은 점차 확대되어 못된 관리, 비평가, 신문기자등이
취약점을 가진 사람들을 협박, 공갈해서 뜯어가는 돈을 의미하게
되었다.
blackmail이 동사로도 사용되어 다음과 같은 뜻을 갖는다.
The gangster blackmailed John.
그 깡패가 John을 협박했다.
Black Journalism이라고 하는 말은 언론 혹은 언론인들이 하는
blackmail이라고 이해하면 되겠다.

기억(memory), 행동(action)의 순위가 있다는 법칙. 미국의 클렌드 홀이
제창, 광고 판매에 있어서 격언이 되었다. 그후, D.A사이에 확신
(conviction)을 넣은 AIDCA가 나타났다.
opinion leader
어떤 그룹의 방향 설정을 하는 사람. 커뮤니케이션의 중개자가 되는 사람.
소비생활면의 그룹의 리더를 마켓 리더라고 한다. 2단계 정보의 흐름
(two-step flow of information)이론에 의하면 송신자로부터 나온 정보는
먼저 매스커뮤니케이션 미디어를 통한 사회 속의 소수의 부분에 도달하고,
그후에 opinion leader와 그 밖의 수신자와의 개인적 커뮤니케이션에 의해
메시지의 전달, 즉 정보의 2단계 흐름이 생기는 것이다. 소수의 부분인
opinion leader는 사회, 경제적 분류에서 보면 사회적 지위, 교육 정도가
높고 자유업에 종사하는 사람. 심리적 분류에서 보면 혁신 적, 모험적인
사람이 이에 속한다.

agency commission. 마진(margin) 이라고도 한다. 광고 대행사가 광고주의
의뢰에 따라 매체에 광고를 개재 또 는 방송하는 것에 의해서 매체 측에서

But when the Persian Gulf War broke out in 1991, the company won an
exclusive contract to produce hand-held receivers for the military.

What followed was nothing short of ``cultural shock,'' explained Charlie
Arminger, vice president of sales. When he arrived in 1989, the company
had $19 million in sales. By 1991, at the height of Desert Storm, the
company's sales had increased more than sevenfold, to $150 million.

When the war ended, the government refused to accept any more shipments
of the receivers, even though Trimble had reorganized its production
line around them. ``For us, it was as though the war lasted for a
nanosecond,'' Arminger said. ``We were suddenly left with a ton of
inventory sitting around. We went into a funk.''

Trimble was forced to slash jobs, and sales plunged. The company has
since recovered, but only because it moved aggressively into commercial
production. It has since doubled the amount of its sales to $300
million, and only about 10 percent of its business remains tied to
military contracts.

As stated above, section 777 of the Act permits the DOC to use business proprietary
information for the duration of an entire proceeding, from initiation to termination or
revocation. Although IA may have access to business proprietary information from
another segment of the proceeding, IA may not base a decision on business proprietary
information that is not on the record of the particular segment of the proceeding. 19 CFR
351.306(b) deals with the use of business proprietary information by parties from one
segment of a proceeding to another. Generally, the APO authorizes parties to retain
business proprietary information for two additional segments after the segment in which
the business proprietary information was submitted (i.e., two subsequent consecutive
administrative reviews, or in any other segment initiated during those two administrative
reviews). An authorized applicant may place business proprietary information received in
one segment of a proceeding on the record of additional segments as classified but only if
the information is relevant to an issue in the subsequent segment. Once business
proprietary information is placed on the record of a subsequent proceeding, it remains a
permanent addition to the later record.
