지가 보통임.값은 시가의 2/3에서 1/2이하인 것도 있다.
이용요령은 평소에 상품가치를 잘 알아두었다가 장이 서는
날 아침일찍가야만 원하는 물건을 구입할 수 있다.
역시 이 경우에도 '아침 일찍 일어나는 사람이 좋은 물건을
손에 넣을 수가 있다.' 이런 곳에 자리를 잡으려면 비교적
싼 임대료 만으로 가능하며 타지에 처음 정착하려고 하는
우리 교민들의 사업무대가 되기도 한다고.
Go to any vacant lot and look around.
Under the “no dumping” signs you will find old tires, rusting sinks, junked refrigerators, and other trash.
There are also laws about the care of dogs, but some dog-owners seem to be ignorant of them.
They let their dogs run loose and do not clean up after them.
Perhaps the most disregarded of all laws are our traffic regulations.
More and more drivers are speeding, going through red lights, and double parking on the road.
And some drivers, apparently not even worrying about being fined,
have been parking in spaces clearly marked as reserved for the physically challenged.
These are some examples that show a lack of respect for the law.
아무 공터라도 가서 둘러보라.
“쓰레기 투기 금지”라는 표지판 밑에서 낡은 타이어, 녹슬어가는 싱크대, 버려진 냉장고 등의 쓰레기들을 발견하게 될 것이다.
개를 관리하는 것에 판한 법 규정들도 있지만, 일부 개의 주인들은 그러한 규정들을 모르는 것 같다.
그들은 자신들의 개를 풀어놓아 돌아다니게 하고, 개가 더럽혀 놓은 것을 치우지 않는다.
아마도 모든 법 규정 중에서 가장 등한시되는 것이 교통 법규일 것이다.
과속 운전을 하고, 정지신호를 지키지 않으며, 도로에 이중 주차를 하는 사람들이 점점 늘어나고 있다.
그리고 일부 운전자들은, 벌금이 부과되는 것에 대해 아랑곳하지 않는 듯이,
장애인 전용 주차 공간이라고 분명하게 표시되어 있는 곳에 차를 주차해 왔다.
이러한 것들은 법을 존중하는 마음이 결여되어 있음을 보여주는 예들이다.

This Saturday, July 15th, Campbell's Hardware will be holding our third annual company barbecue.
All employees and their families are encouraged to attend.
The barbecue will be held from noon until 5 P.M in the field behind the company parking lot.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips, and watermelon will be provided.
There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby for those of you who would like to contribute refreshments or desserts.
Be sure to bring your bats and gloves as immediately following lunch, we will be holding the company softball game.

barbecue는 미국 속어로 '허물없이 만나는 모임'의 뜻으로도 쓰임.

but down below there are some unexpected sights.

Crisscrossing this forest, are countless miles of highways

and they were made by something big.

Forest elephants roam great distances in their search for food
숲 코끼리는 먹이를 찾아 아주 먼 길을 방랑하지만
but to survive, they must emerge from the gloom of the forest.
살아남기 위해서는 어두운 숲을 벗어나야 합니다
And clearings like this one, are a magnet for elephants from far and wide.
코끼리들은 이런 공터를 찾아 먼곳에서 모여듭니다
These elephants live in much smaller groups than their savanna cousins.
숲 코끼리는 초원 코끼리와 달리 작은 집단을 이루고 살아갑니다
This might be the first time that one group will have seen another for a month.

For the adult males it's a welcome break in an otherwise largely solitary existence

and they're not the only animals attracted to the clearing.

Forest buffaloes and red river hogs are also regular visitors

as are bongos, which are very difficult to see outside these clearings.

All these large forest animals have come here to collect an essential element of their diet

The urchin plague strikes at the kelp's holdfasts their crucial attachments to the rock.

Holdfasts are extremely tough, but each urchin has five teeth, which are self sharpening
부착부는 대단히 질기지만 성게는 몇달마다 새로 돋는
and are replaced every few months.

그래서 '성게 황무지'라고 알려진 공터를 만들어놓지요
yet barrens is a poor description.
하지만 황무지란 말은 어울리illions of invertebrates invade the seabed.
수백만마리의 무척추 동물들이 몰려들기 때문입니다
이전의 건물을 허물어 그 자리에 지었든, 공터에 지었든, 없던 건물이 생기는 것이니 신고하는 의미다.
Whether it was built after demolishing a previous building or on the empty site, as the new building was built, it means to report it.
