주 : 아래에 있는 표는 1972년 11월 6일부터 10일까지 제네바(Geneva)에서 열린 실명예방에 관한 모임에서
세계보건기구 연구진이 제안한 시력장애의 정도에 대한 분류이다.
"저시력"이라는 용어는 아래표의 항목 1 및 2에 해당하며, "실명"이라는 용어는 항목 3, 4 및 5에, "확인불능의
시력상실"이라는 용어는 항목 9에 해당된다.
시야의 넓이를 고려한다면 중심시력의 장애가 없어도 시야가 주시점 주위 5˚이하이면 항목 4에 해당되고
시야가 5˚보다 크고 10˚미만이면 항목 3에 해당된다.
