When are you going to retire?
'잠자리에 든다'는 go to bed, go to sleep
그리고 속어로 hit the sack, hit the hay 또한 turn in 이란

Even a worm will turn
I'm not going to take it lying down이라는 영어 표현이
Let's not take it lying down도 그냥

I'm not turned on 난 흥분하지 않았어.
난 뒤 She turns me on이라고 하면 '저 여자 섹시한데' 또는
I'm not turned on라고 말했다. 이것은
I'm not interested
He turns me off라고 말해도 똑 같은 말이 된다.

through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor.

Once upon a time . . . there lived a woman who had no children.
She dreamed of having a little girl, but time went by, and
her dream never came true. She then went to visit a witch,
who gave her a magic grain of barley.
She planted it in a flower pot.

And the very next day, the grain had turned into a
lovely flower, rather like a tulip. The woman softly
kissed its half-shut petals. And as though by magic,
the flower opened in full blossom.

Turn the screw the other way round.
그래서 to screw up one's courage라고 하면 용기를 죄어 올리는 것이니까
그래서 to have a screw loose라고 하면 '멍하다'입니다.
She has a screw loose.
-
to screw up은 나사가 위로 빠진 것이니까
I screwed up big time.
I'm going to screw you twice as bad as you screwed me today.
You trying to screw me?
나사를 죄는 거니까 뭔지 아시겠죠. ^^;

Still, few expect that the summits will immediately solve many
political questions. However, the series of Chong Wa Dae meetings could
mark a turning point in the rival camps' relations as they move from
mutual confrontation to accommodation. The parties may come to
realize that the continuation of the partisan strife could deal a fatal blow
to both ruling and opposition parties, with the deepening popular distrust
of and antagonism to politicians.

Private Eyes and Government Files :
-
Checking the background and reliability of government workers
seeking security clearances is a sensitive job that can easily be
mishandled, as the White House abuse of F.B.I. files shows. But the way
to keep the system clean and efficient is not to turn it over to private
business. The potential for misuse of privileged information is too
great.
백악관이 F.B.I.

But turn it over is just what the Clinton administration is doing.
Under a misguided reform proposed by Vice President Al Gore's
''reinventing government'' program, the Federal Government is getting
ready to transfer 40 percent of its employee security checking to private
hands.

In many countries, military servicemen bear the primary responsibility
in disaster relief activities for civilians. If the military itself falls
victim to natural disasters, its dependability as the nation's guardian is
seriously damaged. Who will the people turn to for help if our armed
forces themselves are in disarray after a heavy downpour?

disarray : ..

Yongsan Base Park Plan :
We welcome the Seoul city government's plan to turn the Yongsan
military compound now used by the Eighth U.S. Army into a public
park. Coming on top of the construction of a sports park in the Ttuksom
area in eastern Seoul and an ecological park around Yoido Islet of the
Han River as well, this will add substantially to the green areas in
which the people of Seoul are able to relax and slough off the troubles
of daily life.

Deplorably enough, the government, the school authorities and the
political parties have also declined to face squarely a perennial student
problem that has been worsened by the expansion of student networks
and the sharpening of their ideological armament. No one has wanted to
get into trouble by tackling the militant students, and a blind eye has
been turned to the problem.

Kim's Stance Against Hanchongnyon :
President Kim Young-sam has made some unusually critical
statements about militant pro-Pyongyang student activism, equating
the recent violent student demonstrations at Yonsei University to an
urban guerrilla operation. This position of Kim's is expected to mark a
turning point in the government's handling of the radical student
movement, mainly under the control of the hard-line Hanchongnyon or
Korean Federation of University Student Councils.
