In an effort to lure as many foreign tourists as possible into the
country, the government is also placing too much emphasis on building
hotels. Deterring tourists from coming here are exorbitant prices, poor
services, lack of cultural events and serious traffic congestion, not a lack
of hotels. Tourism, often called an ``export industry without factory
chimneys,'' does not sell commodities but attractions, including
beautiful scenery and traditional culture.

Despite these positive aspects, however, vacations also involve many
nuisances that are a by-product of a general lack of public morality.
Besides the terrible traffic jams, bad-smelling garbage piles up
everywhere and vacationers find themselves paying through the nose
for food and accommodations. People seeking peace and quiet camping
out at resorts are also disturbed by boisterous singers, frantic dancers
and gamblers playing ``hwatu'' (flower cards) late into the night.

As indicated in the newspaper article, traffic accidents are one of the most significant causes of death.

The recent statistics say that by not wearing a seat belt, drivers are doubling their risk of being killed or seriously injured.
Today more people wear a seat belt than they did ten years ago - but still some people avoid wearing a seat belt and lose their lives.
They must realize that wearing a seat belt can reduce traffic accidents.

UNICEF reported that Korean children are most exposed to “death by traffic accidents” among OECD countries.
It announced that Korea ranks first with 25.6 deaths for every 100,000 children.
Many drivers in Korea ignore traffic lights and drive dangerously.
In Korea, 71% of the children die by getting struck by cars while walking.
If we observe traffic regulations and keep safe driving in mind, the nation can save about 12,000 young lives each year.

If you get a blow-out while you are driving, you should know what to do.
A blow-out is a sudden flat tire.
It can be a very frightening experience, especially if you are traveling at high speeds.
If your car gets a blow out, the first thing to do is to hold very tightly to the steering wheel.
You can easily lose control of the car if you do not have a good hold of the steering wheel.
The next step is to get off the road.
However, you must not try to stop or turn too quickly.
After you check the traffic, you should move over to the side of the road and slow down gradually.
Then you should turn on your flashing lights so other cars can see you.

Yet thanks to my wife, I began to calm myself down.
I tried to relax in the car.
I allowed myself more travel time and tried not to let the traffic and the slow movement annoy me.

There are also laws about the care of dogs, but some dog-owners seem to be ignorant of them.
They let their dogs run loose and do not clean up after them.
Perhaps the most disregarded of all laws are our traffic regulations.
More and more drivers are speeding, going through red lights, and double parking on the road.
And some drivers, apparently not even worrying about being fined,
have been parking in spaces clearly marked as reserved for the physically challenged.
These are some examples that show a lack of respect for the law.

Five years ago evidence of air-bag injuries began to surface.
Drivers in minor fender benders suffered severe eye and ear injuries.
They also got broken bones and third-degree burns from the force of the inflating bags.
In December 1991 the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) advised parents to avoid putting rear-facing infant seats in front of air bags, acknowledging that the force of the explosive bag could harm infants, whose head were only inches away from the devices.

Tom:
And all of us should use bicycles rather than automobiles.

Then, we won't have to worry about air pollution, either.
I'm convinced that's the best way.

The way I see it, the major cause is that too many people live in big cities.

Unless we take action now, traffic congestion will get worse and worse.
I know it's easier said than done.
But, at least, we have to work out a practicable solution.

Workers in manufacturing jobs are likely to suffer serious health problems as a result of the noise, or the stress of being paced by mechanical requirements of the assembly line.

The amount of work involved, however, does not necessarily determine the level of stress.
Air traffic controllers, for instance, report that the long stretches of doing relatively little are at least as stressful as the times when they are handling many aircraft in the sky.

I suppose it was worth all the aggravation you caused, not to mention the potential for accidents.
You must have known that if traffic was averaging 30 mph you could shave all of two minutes off of your total travel time for every 264 car lengths that you gained.

There are, on the other hand, many good reasons against owning a car.
First, it can be very expensive.
The price of fuel continues to rise and car insurance can cost three or four hundred dollars a year.
In addition, it is expensive to maintain and repair a car.
A simple tune-up can cost $50.
In an urban area, it might also be expensive to park the car.
Second, owning a car can cause worry and stress.
It is exhausting to drive in rush-hour traffic, or to drive around and around looking for a parking space.
If you leave your car on the street, it might get stolen.
That is something else to worry about.
Finally, everyone needs to think about pollution and energy problems.
Air pollution and noise pollution increase as more and more people drive cars.

In no other town than London is it so important, nay, essential, to have
good friends because practically everything that constitutes the charm
of London life takes place behind closed doors, either of clubs or private
houses; nowhere does social life count for so little. The Englishman is
unwilling to exhibit himself in public and still more so to mix with a
crowd of strangers.
The function of the London street is simply to contain the traffic,
which is dense that its stream sweeps the individual along with it.

Would you tell me where the post office is?
Is it far from here? Is it near
here? Keep
Go two blocks=Go for two blocks라고 말한다.

how는 수단.
go to, reach, 혹은 arrive at를 사용할 수 있다. I don't know 보다는 I'm
sorry I

I am a stranger here는 I came here for the first time보다 더욱
[동쪽으로 가세요]는 Go east와 Go to the east 두가지로 말할 수 있다.

A:Would you please tell me which way Seoul Station is?

B:Certainly. You can't miss it.
**
Would you...?와 Could you...?는 Will you...?나 Can you...?
Could you tell me
where Seomoon Market is?
Go that way. Come this way. It's hat way.

A:Excuse me. I wonder if you can help me.
B:I'm sorry I'm in a hurry. My bus is coming.
I wonder if you can show me the
way to Taegu Station.
Here comes my
bus. My bus is coming here. Why not~?은 Why don't
you~?

How long long did it take?
Only an hour.
Well, that's not long.
No. But we had to wait half an hour to land.
Why?
There was a lot of air traffic.

Was it hard to get a seat?
That's faster than the train.
When's the next shuttle to New York?
It leaves in an hour.
I can get a shuttle from Boston to Pittsburgh.

There used to be a traffic officer on the corner.

Crowding stresses us. The more crowded we feel, the more stressed we
get. Work stresses us, too. Workers in manufacturing jobs are likely to
suffer serious health problems as a result of the noise, or the stress of
being paced by mechanical requirements of the assembly line. The amount
of work involved, however, does not necessarily determine the level of
stress. Air traffic controllers, for instance, report that the long
stretches of doing relatively little are at least as stressful as the
times when they are handling many aircraft in the sky.

Ironic (Alanise Morisette)
-
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoon when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic, don't you think
A little too ironic
Yeah, I really do think

Industrial expansion was the primary factor, and in the period following the
