기업 또는 상품을 표시하는 독특한 인물이나 동물을 그림이나 인형으로
창작하고, 반복 사용하는 것에 의해 그 기업이나 상품과 결부시키려고
하는 것. eye catch 에 trademark의 성격을 갖게 하는 것.

예컨대 A기업은 회사가 개발한 상표권을 사주 명의로 등록해 사용료를 부당 지급하고, 이후 회사가 상표권을 고가에 취득하는 수법으로 법인자금을 불법 유출했다.

Cyber-squatting, a violation of trademark rights, refers to bad faith or
abusive registrations under which an address is reserved,often without
payment first, with the intent to be resold later.
도메인주소 등록 때 신뢰의 원칙에 반하는 등록이나 나중에 되팔 목적으로 일
단 등록시켜 주소만 확보하는 식의 등록 남용 행위는 사이버스쿼팅으로 상표권
침해행위로 간주된다.

``It concerns an allegation that the domain name in question was
registered in bad faith by the domain name registrant in abuse of the
trademark rights of the complainant,'' WIPO said.``The names of the
parties and other details of the dispute will become available when the
decision of the panel appointed to determine the case is published,'' it
added.
WIPO는 "중재 요청 사건은 문제의 도메인 이름 등록이 중재 신청자의 상표권을
침해하고 신뢰의 원칙에 위반된다는 혐의"라며 "당사자의 이름과 구체적
분쟁내용은 중재 심사회의의 결정이 공포될 때 밝혀질 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
