topsy-turvy: 뒤죽박죽(not organized, messy)
ex) I can never find anything in this room. Everything is so topsy-turvy.
- shilly-shally: 망설이다
Shall I? Shall I?에서 Shall he? Shall he?
- dillydally: 꾸물거리다, 빈둥거리다(to hesitate, to waste time by moving slowly)
ex) If Miss Lee plans to come with us, we'd better get to her house an hour early. She always dillydallies when she's getting ready.
Nil I?
- fuddy-duddy: 변함이 없는 사람(someone who doesn't like change)
ex) Mr. Lee never goes anywhere new, always wears a tie, eats the same food every day, and is in bed by nine o'clock. He's a real fuddy-duddy.

ex) She works for the government, but nobody knows exactly what she does. Her job is very hush-hush.

ex) Have you tried to read and understand all that mumbo jumbo in the insurance policy?
- wishy-washy: 우유부단한, 약한(undecided, weak, not definite and clear)
ex) My boss is very wishy-washy. He has trouble deciding who should do what, and he doesn't give clear orders.
- wheeler-dealer: 수완가, 책략가(a person who is always making business deals and trying to get the best deal)
ex) Mr. Park is big-time wheeler-dealer in real estate. He keeps buying and selling stores and hotels all over the country.

→ 자리에 안 계시다: is not at one's desk; is not here, is out 등으로 표현
→ 나중에: later (on); in a little while; in a few minutes; in a short while.
Shall I ask him to phone you?
(ANS) Dr. Kim is not at his desk (right) now. Shall I have him call you at home later (on)? 또는 Shall I get him to phone you at home later on?

[比較] suppose, guess, imagine, assume, infer
I am able to suppose how upset you are just from the expression in your eyes.(당신 눈빛만 보고도 당신이 얼마나 당황하고 있는지 짐작할 수 있네.)/ Can you guess how old I am?
He imagines that people don't like him.
He had imagined that he had heard a scraping noise.
assume 역시 take as a fact or as true without proof라는 뜻인데, suppose보다는 formal style에서 쓰인다.
Assuming it rains tomorrow, what shall we do?

[比較] what ever, whatever
What ever can it mean?(대체 무슨 말이냐?), What ever shall we do?(대체 어떻게 해야 할까?)
(b) 관계사: whatever는 복합관계사 what의 강조형으로, all that, any(thing) that(~인 것은 모두, ~인 것은 무엇이나)를 의미한다.
Eat whatever you like./ Whatever is left over is yours.
Whatever request you make will be granted.(네가 요구하는 것은 무엇이든 들어주겠다.)
형용사로 쓰이는 경우 더 한층 강조하기 위해 any, no 따위로 수식된 명사 다음에 자리를 잡아, for any reason whatever(여하한 이유로든지)처럼 할 수 있다. for whatever reason보다 뜻이 강하다.
I have no plans whatever.
Whatever happens, we'll meet here tonight./ Whatever man told you that, it is not true.

Shall we DO THE TOWN tonight?
Cf) hit the town

You have my WORD.
☞ word - a promise
Ex) I shall keep my word.

* resort to ...
- If other means fail, we shall resort to force.

at the latest(늦어도), at the earlist(빨라야)
ex) You must deliever our order within two weeks at the latest.
That's a little short notice.
cf) I'll be in trouble, how shall I do?

Can you come my way?
Shall I come your way or would you come my way?
Going my way?
All things came my way 또는 Everything came my way라고 하면

Disguising himself as a knight, Sanson challenges the Don to combat,

He decides to try his luck in the world.

Can you wrap this up, please?
Can I have a doggie bag?
하지만 doggie bag에 담긴 남은 음식(leftover)을 사람이 먹기도 합니다. -..-;;
-
Could you wrap this up as a gift ?
Shall I wrap the gift ?
Could you gift-wrap it, please?
-
to be wrapped up in ∼라고 하면 ∼에 휩싸이다
I was so wrapped up in reading, I didn't recognize you.
It's time to wrap it up.
What the rival parties can do best now is to wrap up the committee activities.

You have my WORD.
word - a promise
Ex) I shall keep my word.

The 198 men granted exemption did not even attain one year of their required
service in the military. According to the law no soldier shall be granted a
military exemption for health reasons unless he has been receiving treatment for
at least one year. Thus, the exemptions were illegal in the first place regardless
if the claims of health problems were true or not.

I shall(or will) star

T: What do you think about using cell phones in public?
S1: We should put them on vibration. All these cell phones and beepers seem like pollution.
S2: I don't agree. I think cell phones are useful.
We can use them whenever we want.
T: That's enough. Let's move on.
Please pay attention during class.
Now shall we start today's lesson?

My hobby is to listen to pop music.
This song is used in a drama.
Let's sing in a group.
Shall we try and sing along?
How about listening to the singer before singing it?
How do you feel about the song?
Please sing after me line by line.
Let's sing in our groups in front of everyone.
