* 날씨에 관하여............
ex) Looks like another sizzler today.
What a scorcher! / What a sizzler!

Did hell freeze over?
등의 뜻으로 쓰이고 when hell freezes over는 never와 같은 뜻으로
I'll believe you when hell freezes over -
That'll be the day란 말도 위의
when hell freezes over과 같은 의미이다.

They put the freeze on the payroll.

But in the corner, at the cold hour of dawn, sat the
poor girl, with rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth,
leaning against the wall--frozen to death on the last

One question is whether the president's answer to political restructuring is
contributing more to a freezing in relations with the opposition rather than a
thawing of political hostilities.
It is this apparent lack of regard for real, unscripted, questions and dialogue
with people outside of his party that is part of the problem.

when hell freezes over

If all spiders suddenly disappeared, we'd starve to death.
As soon as the canned and frozen foods were used up, there would be no more food.
The millions and millions of insects that live on earth would eat all the crops.
With no spiders, the bugs cannot be stopped.
That's what spiders do for us, though we do not always appreciate it.
They eat bugs day and night.
They have eaten a total number of bugs weighing more than several billion people on earth today.
There are too many spiders to count.

Restaurants require their cooks to handle food carefully to make sure that it stays fresh.
First of all, the cook must keep the kitchen clean so that no dust or dirty water comes into contact with the food.
He must keep in the refrigerator all food which can go bad.
Uncooked meat, for example, should be frozen or kept in the refrigerator in a covered bowl.
Milk, juice, and other drinks should be kept in closed bottles and kept cool.

Ice sometimes can protect crops.
Some growers actually spray their crops with water on a freezing night.
Water freezes quickly on the plants―and then a strange thing happens.
As long as ice stays wet, it cannot get colder than 0℃, a temperature many plants can stand.
If the ice ever became entirely frozen and dry, it might drop many degrees lower, ruining the plants.
But by continually spraying water on the ice, the growers keep it from going below 0℃, saving the plants.
This strange kind of “ice blanket” works only on plants that are strong enough to stand the weight of frozen spray.

As I walked home one freezing day, I stumbled on a wallet someone had lost in the street.
I picked it up and looked inside to find some identification so I could call the owner.
But the wallet contained only three dollars and a crumpled letter that seemed to have been there for years.
The envelope was worn and the only thing that I could read was the return address.
I started to open the letter, hoping to find some clue.
Then I saw the dateline and found that the letter had been written almost ten years before.

The bush dog of South America has short legs but wide paws.
It lives near rivers, so the short legs and wide paws help it to swim.
The maned wolf lives in the grasslands of South America.
It has long, thin legs.
With them, the wolf can look out over the tall grasses.
The Arctic fox has tiny ears and thick fur.
As you can tell from its name, it lives in the frozen North.
There, the temperature can drop to 50 degrees or more below zero.
Because the fox’s ears are so small, they don’t lose much heat.
And the extra-thick fur helps keep the fox warm.

Once a poor student had to wander about the countryside.
He had no money, and he had no home.
One freezing night, the student knocked at the door of a farmer's house.
The farmer was an agreeable person who said, “Come in! You look very tired and hungry.”
The farmer gave the student supper, and the two began talking.

“I never gave up.”
These words have been voiced by mountain climbers who lay in freezing crevices until their rescue, by people who have recovered from cancer, and by people who survived the Great Depression.
Hope, which seems like the thinnest little thread, is an incredibly powerful force leading us from the most horrible problems into a bright new day.
Hang on to hope.
Never give up hope, however frightening the obstacles lying in your path are.

The Montreal Protocol was the first international treaty to protect the atmosphere from the consequences of human activity.
In 1987, 24 countries participated in the agreement, which aimed, by 1996, to freeze production of ozone-destroying chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
Chlorofluorocarbons are widely used as the working fluid in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
When signed in 1987, the treaty was considered "progressive and far-sighted" by interest groups such as Ozone Action.
Today, however, although 162 countries, representing about 95% of the world's population, are signatories to it, there is widespread concern that the provisions of the Protocol are insufficient.

e they are by nature so slippery and subjective.
You can't ask a rat if it's anxious or depressed.

Northern North America is part of a larger circumpolar ecological domain
that continues across the narrow Bering Strait into Siberia and northern
Europe. The overall circumpolar environment in the 1500's was not very
different from the environment of the present. This vast landmass had a
continental climate and was dominated by cold arctic air throughout a
long winter and spring season. Summer temperature ranged from near
freezing to the mid-20's Celsius, while winter temperature were often as
low as 40 degrees below zero Celsius.

Temperatures in the northern lands were below freezing for eight or nine
months of the year. Subsurface soil in the Arctic's tundra remained
permanently frozen. Even when summer temperatures were above freezing
and the top inches of earth became saturated with water, the soil below
remained frozen into a permafrost, as hard as rock. When water flowed
upon the surface of permanently frozen tundra, it made overland travel
extremely difficult.

Summer travel in the boggy lands, or muskeg country, of the Subarctic's
taiga was also slow and arduous. Tracking animals was more difficult
than it was during the winter when the swampy ground was frozen solid
and covered with snow.

Huge glaciers that stretch over the shallow continental shelf give birth
to icebergs throughout the year. Icebergs are not like sea ice, which is
formed when the sea itself freezes ; rather, they are formed entirely on
land, breaking off when glaciers spread over the sea. As they drift away
from the polar region, icebergs sometimes move mysteriously in a
direction opposite to the wind, pulled by subsurface currents. Because
they melt more slowly than smaller pieces of ice, icebergs have been
known to drift as far north as 35 degrees south of the equator in the
Atlantic Ocean.

Temperatures on the Earth will become too hot for life to exist. Once
the Sun has used up its thermo-nuclear energy as a red giant, it will
begin to shrink. After it shrinks to the size of the Earth, it will
become a white dwarf star. The Sun may throw off huge amounts of gases
in violent eruptions called nova explosions as it changes from a red
giant to a white dwarf. After billions of years as a white dwarf, the
Sun will have used up all its fuel and will have lost its heat. Such a
star is called a black dwarf. After the Sun has become a black dwarf,
the Earth will be dark and cold. If any atmosphere remains there, it
will have frozen onto the Earth's surface.

You break it in.

- What is this?
- The names of every person in America
who will lose home care when the freeze sets in.

This picture looks pretty big to me.
I can't vote for the package.
Then don't.
Just get four of your people to do it.
And then, work with me after we avoid the freeze.

I need your shirt.
Why is it every time we meet, you're wanting me to take my clothes off.
Because, every time we meet,
you put yourself in a position where you have to take them off.
Using your arms, how big's a whale?
Now freeze. Don't move.
Up.
위로요

If you want to know why she was blue? Cold to the touch in the middle of a desert?
This lady was frozen. Kept on ice until approximately twelve hours ago.
