The desert of Bahrain seems a very unlikely place

but at least, there are no land based predators here.

The only source of trouble is likely to be the neighbors
골칫거리라면 이웃들이 유일한 골칫거리죠
so each nest is built just beyond pecking reach
그래서 둥지들은 서로 쪼을 수 없는 간격으로 자리잡습니다
But what about food?
근데 먹이는 어디서 구할까요?
There's only bare sand and the warm shallow sea beyond.
모래사막과 덥고 얕은 바다밖에 없는 곳에서 말이죠
Neither seem likely to produce enough nourishment to support bird life on this scale.
양쪽 모두 이런 규모의 새무리를 충분히 먹이긴 힘들어 보입니다
The answer is blowing in the wind.
그 해답은 바로 바람에 있습니다

blows into the seas of the Arabian Gulf.
페르시아만의 바다로 불어갑니다
With the grains come nutrients, which act as fertilizer
바람속 먼지는 비료역할을 해서
and they transform the shallow sea into a rich fishing ground
얕은 바다를 풍요로운 어장으로 바꾸어 놓습니다
So, paradoxically, it's the roasted sands of Arabia that prevent the gulf
역설적이게도 아라비아 사막의 모래가
from being another desert in the sea.
바다가 사막처럼 변하는 것을 막아주는 것이지요
